Pyin Nyar Parami Shwe Kyaung School

Pyin Nyar Parami Shwe Kyaung school is in village is about 1 ½ hours drive southwest of  Mandalay.  A monastic school spanning kindergarden through grade 10 (and therefore called a high school), PNPSK enjoys strong support from the villagers, who mostly farm sesame, goundnuts (peanuts) and beans.

A former student of BSB’s executive director, Robert Cornwell, Mar Mar Win, asked if BSB could help complete construction of a new classroom above an existing building and wrote the proposal.

This project was completed in March 2020, in time for the beginning of the new school year in June. Some school classes are still held under the monastery mango tree, so a possible second phase could be to add another classroom block.
